I have a summer ritual to walk my neighborhood just to gather various fruit. The majority of the tree owners are all to happy for me to gather their fruit because they see it as a chore. Next time you go for a walk, look up, you may find your favorite fruit.
I made a Fruit map of my neighborhood a couple of years ago. But I lost it. Recently, while researching, I came across this map created by Falling Fruit. They have “A massive, collaborative map of the urban harvest uniting the efforts of foragers, freegans, and foresters around the world.” Who Knew? I searched my neighborhood on the map and it is pretty accurate. How cool is that? Check it out!
What’s in your hood?

Good info!
I never thought to ask my neighbors.
Yes, some people get tired of picking up the fruit that has fallen from their trees and they are usually very happy to give the fruit away. Ask around your neighborhood, you will be surprised how much you will receive. Keep in touch and let me know what you received. Have a great day!
